Delicious complementary food recipes

If you do not want to fall back on industrially manufactured baby food, you can easily cook baby porridge yourself. Most of the time, you do not need many ingredients for this: In the beginning, some vegetables, oil and a little fruit juice are enough to prepare a delicious porridge for your baby. We will give you a delicious recipe for the different types of bread on the way. However, always remember that you have to find out for yourself what your baby tastes and gets well.

Prepare porridge properly

At the beginning of the diet you should make sure that the porridge is pureed as fine as possible - so your baby can eat the porridge better. Important when preparing is that the kitchen utensils are always clean, so that no germs can get into the porridge.

That's why you should not store the finished porridge for too long, it's best that your baby consume the porridge within one day. If you want to prepare larger quantities in stock, you can freeze the remains in freezer rinsed with hot water.

Recipe: Vegetable porridge

Ingredients:

  • 150 grams of vegetables (eg carrots or parsnips)
  • 1 teaspoon of rapeseed oil
  • 30 milliliters of fruit juice (preferably vitamin C-rich)

Preparation: Peel the carrots and cut them into small pieces. Boil it with some water. Purée the carrots and then add the oil and fruit juice.

Recipe: Vegetable Potato Meat Porridge

Ingredients:

  • 20 grams of lean meat
  • 90 grams of vegetables
  • 40 grams of potatoes
  • 30 milliliters of fruit juice (preferably vitamin C-rich)
  • 8 milliliters of rapeseed oil

Preparation: Cook the meat gently, cut it into small pieces and then puree it. Wash the vegetables and peel the potatoes. Cut both into small pieces and simmer gently in a little water. Then add the pureed meat and boil the mixture once. Then add the fruit juice and puree everything again. Finally, add the oil.

Recipe: Milk and cereal porridge

Ingredients:

  • 200 milliliters of milk (infant or whole milk)
  • 20 grams of oatmeal (or other whole grain cereal flakes)
  • 20 milliliters of fruit juice (preferably vitamin C-rich)

Preparation: Boil the cereal flakes in the milk. If you are using baby milk, boil the flakes with hot water and add the milk powder after cooling down. Then mix in the fruit juice. Instead of the fruit juice, you can also use fruit puree.

Recipe: cereal-fruit porridge

Ingredients:

  • 20 grams of oatmeal (or other whole grain cereal flakes)
  • 90 milliliters of water
  • 100 milliliters of fruit juice
  • 5 milliliters of rapeseed oil

Preparation: Boil the oatmeal in water. After cooling, add the fruit juice (alternatively: fruit puree) and the vegetable oil.

Recipe: Vegetable Potato Cereal Porridge

Ingredients:

  • 50 grams of potatoes
  • 100 grams of vegetables
  • 10 grams of oatmeal
  • 30 milliliters of orange juice
  • 20 milliliters of water
  • 8 milliliters of rapeseed oil

Preparation: Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Next, sauté the potatoes together with the finely chopped vegetables in a saucepan. Add the oatmeal, orange juice and water and puree everything. Finally add the rapeseed oil.
