Especially young athletic people often complain of knee problems. Typical triggers are stair climbing (the knee joint must be eight times ascent climbing), downhill or sporting activities that are associated with stress in a deep squat, but also long sitting.
Cycling can lead to knee pain
When cycling, the knee joint is mainly burdened by high power consumption when driving uphill or excessive "in-the-pedals pedaling". In the so-called "runners knee", the pain is not due to a broken knee, but to shortened muscles in the pelvic area and the ischium.
Physiotherapy instead of frog jumps
In most cases, no knee surgery is necessary, it is often enough to limit the pain-inducing strains as much as possible. These include, for example, outdated training methods in squats, such as duck walk, frog jumps, squats with weights, because they exert a high pressure on the kneecap.
Useful are physiotherapeutic exercises that strengthen the thigh muscles. Fitness equipment or the Theraband, a wide rubber gymnastics band, are ideal for this. It is also important to pay attention to a good extensibility of the knee flexor muscles. A five- to ten-minute warm-up with careful stretching exercises is very important.
As a therapy of the runners knee swimming and strengthening and stretching exercises before and after jogging are recommended. Also special shoe inserts can help. Knee joint bandages are a support for overloading.
Enzymes relieve knee inflammation
Overloaded muscles cause the slightest inflammation and trauma that causes pain. Of course, osteoarthritis can also be a reason for knee joint discomfort - here, too, cause inflammation processes the pain.
