Children's skin - how to protect, how to care

Our skin is a real marvel: It regulates body temperature like a thermostat, protects us from harmful environmental influences and pathogens, it is important for our metabolism and it conveys tenderness and well-being. Obviously, that's why it has to be taken care of very carefully - and you can not start early enough with that: The course for a good "skin future" in later life is already set in childhood.

Children's skin is more sensitive

Strictly speaking, the primary care begins in the baby's age, when the mother cares for the infant and spares him sores and painful inflammation. Statisticians have calculated it: At the 4, 000 to 5, 000 times a baby is wrapped and then creamed with a high-quality protective ointment. An effort that is necessary because the delicate baby skin is much thinner and more sensitive than the skin of adults. It is also unable to efficiently protect the organism, and this ability will only become fully effective over time.

Water is there for washing

Parents know that babysitting is still relatively easy because babies enjoy the bath and the subsequent tender creaming. It becomes more difficult when the children get a bit bigger. Then soap and above all shampoos are absolutely undesirable and washing or even showering are high on the list of unpopularities.

Excessive discussions about the subject should be avoided by mothers and fathers. On the one hand, it is good if they give in here and there and do not insist on the daily shower - once or twice a week is enough even if the little ones are washed regularly. On the other hand, they can also outsmart their children with special care products.

A mild, cheerful-looking shampoo that does not sting your eyes works wonders and converts most hair-washing muffels. In addition, there are also colorful soap creams that can be painted like finger paint on the body. Nourishing bath tablets that color the water are also very popular with children. Red, blue, green - every bath becomes a special treat.

The colorful care products should be tailored to the needs of delicate children's skin. Parents should only use products that contain no irritants. Perfumes, for example, pollute the skin.

Measure, even with the cleanliness

Neither too little nor too much cleanliness is good. Some kids love the fun with water and foam too much. They stay in the shower or in the bathtub for a very long time. Whether with or without foam, not only the cleansing products, but also the many water dry out the skin. And this is a problem for many children: Almost two-thirds of children under the age of ten have dry skin whose protective layer is damaged by the washing orgies.

Tip: The sensitive skin of children is often quite dry. Then special cleansing baths with moisturizing oil additive help. These remedies should use the no one until puberty. After that, the skin naturally becomes greasier.

Beautiful skin instead of chocolate

Sweet tooths have to take care. Because especially in autumn, when the temperature drops, the desire for sweets increases. Chocolate tastes particularly delicious and also lifts the mood. But it can harm the skin, because it activates the histamine in the body and this hormone-like substance makes the skin more sensitive to all external influences.

The healthy alternative that tastes good and releases energy: fresh fruit and raw food! It's not as popular as chocolate, but when the fruit is cut and nicely cut, parents often have a sense of achievement.
