Flu or influenza infection - symptoms

Flu infection: symptoms

At these signs you recognize a flu infection:

  • to cough
  • sniff
  • Hoarseness, sore throat
  • Limb and headache
  • Fever and chills
  • languor

Usually, a cold stops after a few days. The so-called symptomatic treatment depends on which symptoms are present. So a stuck cough should be treated with an expectorant, a stuffy nose with decongestant nose drops.

Virus flu (influenza): symptoms

In contrast, the symptoms of the flu are much more dramatic. The virus flu is characterized by:

  • an acute onset of illness
  • Headache and body aches
  • high fever, chills
  • anorexia
  • to cough
  • Weakness and circulatory problems

For high-risk groups and patients with a pre-existing condition, such as diabetics, infants and seniors, the real flu virus can be particularly dangerous. Against influenza, a preventive annual vaccination is possible.
