Many people feel too fat and would like to lose weight. There are several ways to get rid of the bacon rolls. One of these is the slimming down with ready-made drinks or powders, also called formula diets, which are produced industrially.

What are Formula Diets?

The pioneer in slimming drinks was Ulm nutrition specialist Prof. Hans Ditschuneit. He invented the first powder meal, which is why it is also known as Ulmer Trunk. Ditschuneit described in the early 80s, as the energy supply by four to five finished shakes or instant soups can be reduced to 800 to 1, 200 kilocalories daily. Most "astronaut diet" products are similar in composition. As balanced foods they fall under the diet regulation.

Since 1996, certain nutrient contents have been prescribed in the EU directives for these products. On the packs must be what is in it and how many meals can be replaced with it. The daily ration must not be less than 800 kilocalories and must correspond to the "recommendations for nutrient intake" for adults of the German Nutrition Society. The balance of nutrients just has to be exactly right.

Not without accompanying program

Formula Diets: No permanent solution

However, in the long term, normal foods are essential. No matter how well the food is designed - in the long run it can not replace the colorful nutrient mix of natural ingredients. Thus, the composition of an apple can never be imitated one to one by a pill or a powder. And the desire for real food generally increases with time, which should not be ignored for too long.

Step by step slimming

The person willing to lose weight should first consider how long he wants to diet. Equally important is to prescribe a daily level of physical activity. The target weight is best not too low to avoid frustration. One, two or all meals of the day are replaced by a powder meal, which is mixed with water or milk. Finish a formaula diet

After the main phase of the diet, the liquid meals are gradually reduced and replaced by solid meals. The replacement of individual meals with formula drinks is no longer necessary after the conversion.
