In addition to appropriate care, facial gymnastics should keep the skin young and train the muscles in the face. As an alternative to expensive surgery, the good old facial gymnastics is again in great demand. Even after the first targeted muscle exercises, the face looks fresher, the eyes appear larger, wrinkles can be alleviated and bags under the eyes disappear.

Fitness for the face

The "Faceforming" is not a miracle weapon, but helps visibly. In addition to the daily care with creams and lotions, the skin picture can be specifically trained with a little discipline, patience and an exercise manual. Only 26 muscles shape our face. They are intricately interwoven and provide it with contour and support - especially among young people.

With increasing age, the body cells regenerate slower and the head and facial muscles loses its elasticity. But although wrinkles disturb many people, plastic surgery does not need to be a "correction". Because the typical star-shaped wrinkles around the eye, on the forehead and at the root of the nose do not necessarily accompany the aging process.

Rather, they are - just like double chin and hanging mouth - often consequences of poor posture, an unfavorable facial expressions and neglected facial muscles. As a rule, humans usually move these parts of the face in one direction only - following gravity. Therefore, the motto for facial gymnastics is: up-back instead of forward-down.

Healthy faces

Intensive stimulation training improves the tension of the muscles. And the increasing vitality is not limited to the face, but radiates over the neck and shoulders on the whole body. As spectacular as the theory may sound, the exercises look so unimpressive. Depending on the desired effect, the corresponding muscle groups are stimulated with the fingertips under slight pressure.

In the beginning, look in the mirror best. Instead of wild grimaces or gross distortions and plucking actions, millimeter-fine movements are sufficient. These usually counteract the gentle resistance of your own fingers. So far often completely unconsciously activated areas of the head work so strongly with.

Training for the face - when does it help?

Very important: train as consistently as possible. Daily exercises, about five to ten minutes in the morning or in the evening, are enough.

But even the most intense training finds its limits, such as in very strong slippery. The same applies to strong laugh lines. They usually can not be removed. But that's a good thing. Finally, they make the face really lively.

4 exercises of facial gymnastics

We show you four facial exercises to try out:

  • Eyes: Place your thumb and forefinger under and over the area of ​​the eye, stretching the skin slightly in the opposite direction. Then blink against the resistance of the fingers 10 to 20 times. Then relax. Objective: To train the muscles in the eyelids and around the eyes.
  • Cheeks: Blow up the cheeks and then tap them with your fingertips. Then relax and trace the tingling in this area. Alternatively, you can let the air out slowly when you knock on the cheeks. Objective: strengthening the cheek muscles.
  • Forehead: Place your fingers on your forehead so that your fingertips touch, and then lift your eyebrows and eyelids. If your fingers were not there, your forehead would wrinkle. Hold this tension for 6 to 10 seconds, then relax. Goal: Smoothing wrinkles and relaxing the forehead.
  • Mouth angle: Smile and pull the corners of your mouth even higher, helping with your fingers. Then relax and feel how the muscles loosen up at this point. Objective: To combat hanging corners of the mouth.
