Masking skin irregularities under a decorative make-up has long been routine for many women. But if someone wears a face of fire, he or she has only had the choice to put up with it. Today, plastic surgery continues to help in many cases. But what if they fail too? Then camouflage can be a solution.
Why Camouflage Makeup?
Extreme changes in the skin - the exact opposite of the ideal of impeccable beauty - significantly affect the self-esteem of those affected. Some of these anomalies can today be addressed with surgical techniques.
But a full elimination of the error is not always possible. With many congenital anomalies, medicine can only help if the surgery is done in early childhood.
Therefore, in most cases, one will resort to a combination of medical and cosmetic techniques - camouflage.
Application examples for camouflage
- dark eye shadows, thick bags
- large, scarred burns, conspicuous accident scars
- Vitiligo (white, pigment-free, usually larger spots)
- Feuermale (usually innate light to dark blue-red spots)
- Stretch marks, spider veins (extended smallest veins)
- Covering tattoos
- age spots
Camouflage (French: camouflage) is used to cover, hide or obscure color-deviating skin defects. This requires special cosmetics (based on wax oil), which cover skin anomalies more than conventional make-up and are highly resistant to water, heat and abrasion.
Such products, which have been in use since the late 1970s, are well suited to conceal the edges of the eyes, varicose veins, couperose, and pots. Further areas of application are the covering of tattoos as well as occasions in which a long-lasting make-up conditions are in demand (for example dance sport and bridal make-up).
Ideal as a durable day make-up for all occasions
Even during sports, sunbathing and even swimming, make-up lasts about 24 to 36 hours. Due to the large variety of natural shades - currently more than 60 shades available - Camouflage is suitable for every skin type.
The preparations are kind to the skin and are perceived as pleasant. They are easy to apply, odorless and can be used on any part of the body. Anyone who suffers from skin tags and consequently feels emotionally inhibited because of its appearance, can be helped quickly with camouflage.
The most important variants for the camouflage
- Red spots (pits, scars, burns)
They are neutralized with green, the complementary color of red. Therefore, before covering a greenish camouflage cream applied very thinly on the affected areas.
- Blue spots (spongy, bruising, varicose veins)
First, the bluish skin discoloration is lightened with a color that is much lighter than the skin's own (almost white). The edges are spread with a cotton swab into the environment. Above that comes the actual cover.
- White spots (vitiligo, scars)
They are pre-tinted with a tanning lotion. This requires much less masking cream.
- Brown spots (pigment spots, age spots, eye edges)
Dark spots are camouflaged lighter with a flat brush inside. As the second color above, you choose a rosier shade than your own skin tone, so the cover will naturally adapt to the environment.
