The Early Symptoms of Lung Cancer

This is the reason it is important to know the early symptoms of lung cancer. It develops usually between the ages of 45-70. In fact, more and more women fall victim to, as an increasing number of them have started smoking.

If the cells of the lung itself become malignant, it is the so-called primary lung cancer, but lung cancer can also be caused by the spread of cancer from other areas of the body, known as metastatic cancer. These generally spreads to the lungs from the skin, bone, testicular, rectum, cervix, stomach, thyroid, kidney, prostate, colon and breast.

Different types of lung cancer:

More than 90 percent of primary lung cancer starts in the bronchi, one of the two main branches of the trachea. This lung cancer is known as bronchogenic carcinoma, with the specific cell types are oats, or small tumor, adenocarcinoma, large-tumor, and Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Among these, in the last three types are usually called nonsmall cell lung cancer.

A subtype of adenocarcinoma, known as alveolar-tumor, has its origins in the alveoli, the tiny air sacks in the lung. Although this can develop in a part of the lung, often, it occurs simultaneously in several parts.

Some of the lung tumors that are not so often are: bronchial carcinoid, which can be either malignant or nonmalignant; Sarcoma, the cancer tissues and chondromatous hamartoma, that is nonmalignant. B-cell lymphoma is a cancer, the effects of the lymphatic system, can its origins in the lungs, or to them.

What are the causes of lung cancer?

One of the main causes of lung cancer is smoking tobacco. The higher the duration and amount of smoking, the higher the chances of developing countries lung cancer. In fact, it was observed that about 10-20 percent of all smokers eventually lung cancer to develop. Although non-smokers do get lung cancer, smokers are much more vulnerable.

Sometimes, certain types of lung cancer, in particular-alveolar adenocarcinoma tumor and in people whose lungs have been affected by other diseases of the lungs, such as fibrosis and tuberculosis. Radon exposure in the home can also cause lung cancer, although in less than one percent of the cases.

Genetics and environmental pollution are also factors that are associated with lung cancer to develop.

What are the early symptoms of lung cancer?

This disease can often difficult to diagnose because the early symptoms of lung cancer are often subtle, and when they occur in a more severe form, it is too late because by then the disease has usually progressed to advanced stages.

In fact, it was observed that in one quarter of cases in which lung cancer was diagnosed, there were no signs there, and it is usually identified because of an x-ray in the chest taken for other reasons. The remaining three quarters of people do experience early symptoms of lung cancer, some of which are: a persistent cough is worse, that in the course of time; cough, sputum with blood, known as hemoptysis; pain in the chest and shortness of breath, hoarseness, and wheezing, a constant feeling of fatigue, unintentional weight loss, loss of appetite, swelling of the neck and face, persistent problems with pneumonia and bronchitis.

Some of the other symptoms of lung cancer are: difficulty swallowing; abnormalities of the fingers or fingernails, as clubbing or the overgrowth of tissue in the fingertips; paleness of skin or a bluish coloration; muscle atrophy or shrinkage; swelling or pain in the joints; Tenderness or pain in the bones, the drooping eyelids, development of breasts in men.
